Acting Workshop for your Business: The Essentials of Good Communication

A four hour, hands-on workshop fostering active listening, authentic speech, and dropping excessive self consciousness. This training is for groups within the same organization with a focus on acquiring specific skills, as opposed to “self-help” or reflecting on past situations.

Through step-by-step training in Meisner technique and method based acting work, participants will comfortably venture into the fundamentals of acting. There are no scripted scenes but instead exercises which highlight core principles in acting and the importance of connection and relationship. Participants will learn specific techniques to implement when engaging in everyday conversations as well as more challenging discussions.

Contrary to what people might think, extroverts will not do better in an acting class than introverts. Authenticity is authenticity, whether you’re an introvert or an extrovert doesn’t really matter, even the shyest of the shy will find this technique accessible.

Testimonials from people who have done the workshop at Actorium:

“Even from the first workshop there has been a shift in my interaction with others and awareness of how and what I communicate.”

“I am finding the program is helping me stay present and be more honest with everyone in my daily interactions.”

“I have richer relationships because I’m able to recognize what I’m feeling and sense what others are feeling.

“We all have different areas of strengths and weaknesses and our instructors recognize what exercises will benefit us most to make a breakthrough.”

I had a great time during the four-week and the experience has already helped me tremendously. I was in a group that presented a national conference in the field of higher education in the last week of May and it was going to be my first conference presentation … I am happy to report to you that it went very well! So much so that I feel that I am liking the opportunity to speak in front of others a lot and considering for a next opportunity. This positive outcome could not have been achieved without your thoughtful and careful coaching approach to our individual development, so thank you.”
