This is an alternate avenue to enter our regular acting program. If after this one day workshop, you want to continue, your instructor will recommend either taking the four Week Intro program, or our Foundations program, based on your grasp of the technique.
Acting for the Supernaturally Shy
Acting for the Supernaturally Shy is a one day workshop for those that struggle with shyness on a day-to-day basis. In this program Meisner Technique is used as a tool to alleviate self consciousness and become more express yourself authentically. If you would like to carry on studying Meisner Techniqe after this workshop your instructor will help place you in a class.
As an actor your voice is one of your most important instruments. A healthy, resilient and agile voice is essential not only for a wide range of expression, but also for emotional preparation and to ensure a consistent quality of performance.
The somatic processes of the Bartenieff Movement Fundamentals and the Developmental Movement Patterns are the basis of this work. As an awareness of habitual patterns surface, new options arise. Fluidity and ease penetrate your movement and presence.
This accent reduction course will focus on creating a Standard North American accent as a base from which you can build dialects as necessary. This course will teach you to analyze and build accents on your own so that it can be applied to anything from learning a foreign accent for an audition, reducing your original accent, or even creating consistent character voices for animation.
